3. Reflecting on your strained relationship, as well as God’s reconciliation with you, what are your responsibilities toward reconciling with this other person? Consider the following steps:
What ought to be my thoughts about the other person?
What practical steps can I take to begin the reconciliation process?
What is keeping me from taking these steps?
Write a prayer asking for God’s help, praying for the other person, and praising Christ for reconciliation.
Response
2. Romans 5:10 reminds us that our most serious conflict in all of life is with God—by nature we are His enemies! And yet, in our sinful state, we were unaware of our need for reconciliation. In that conflict, did God wait for us to come to Him for reconciliation, or did He initiate reconciliation with us (see Romans 5:8)?
Response
1. As you consider the conflict or strained relationship in your own life, how have you stumbled along in your sinful condition? What things have you thought, said, or done that have contributed to the situation?
