Because of the Love God Has Shown Me Through Christ, For Whom Am I Called To Live?

What does my identity in Christ have to do with conflict?

Conflict Resolution vs Reconciliation - Lesson 1 - Remember Whose You Are - Question 10, p. 15

In the complexities of life, amidst the turmoil and conflicts we face, there is a pivotal question we don't naturally consider: "Because of the love God has shown us through Christ, for whom shall we live?" The Scriptures provides an answer in 2 Corinthians 5:14-17, that is very clear. The apostle Paul tells us, "For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again."

This passage speaks volumes about the transformative power of Christ's love and His ultimate sacrifice. Through His death and resurrection, Christ has shown us an unparalleled love, one that encompasses forgiveness and redemption. God’s forgiveness is not just a mere pardon, but a profound act of love that restores our broken relationship with Him. It is through this divine forgiveness that we are called to live not for ourselves, but for Christ.

Even when conflicts arise, whether they be internal struggles or external battles, the love of Christ remains our guiding beacon. His love, demonstrated through His willingness to die for our sins, calls us to transcend our selfish inclinations and live for Him. This means embodying His teachings, extending forgiveness to others as He has forgiven us, and striving to be a reflection of His love in our daily lives.

Living for Christ in the midst of conflicts involves a conscious effort to align our actions with His example. It requires us to remember that our lives are no longer ours to live selfishly, but to be lived in devotion to the One who gave everything for us. As we navigate through life’s challenges, let us be compelled by Christ’s love, always reflecting the forgiveness and grace He has shown us, and dedicating our lives to His service.
