Understanding Our True Nature Through Scripture
Conflict Resolution vs Reconciliation - Lesson 1 - Remember Whose You Are - Question 4, p. 14

Facing challenges and conflicts is an inevitable part of life, but as believers, we are not left to navigate these troubled waters on our own. The Gospel promise makes a profound difference when we encounter difficulties, especially when dealing with those who have complaints against us.
In Joshua 1:5, God declares, "No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you." This assurance of God's unending presence provides us with the courage and strength to face conflicts, knowing that we are never alone. His steadfast companionship is a source of unwavering support that empowers us to stand firm and act justly, even in the most trying situations.
Colossians 3:12-17 further illuminates how we should approach conflicts with a Christ-like attitude. "Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony" (Colossians 3:12-14). This passage calls us to embody the virtues of compassion and forgiveness, striving to maintain unity and peace. It reminds us that our response to conflict should reflect the grace and mercy we have received from Christ.
The Gospel not only guides us in how to handle conflicts but transforms our hearts to respond in a manner that honors God. By embracing these truths, we are equipped to forgive, love, and seek reconciliation, even when faced with grievances.
As we live out these Gospel principles, we hold fast to the assurance that through Christ, we are more than conquerors. Our hope and strength lie in the unwavering promises of God, who is with us and will never leave us. In Him, we find the courage to face challenges and the grace to overcome them with love and forgiveness.
