Understanding Our True Nature Through Scripture
Conflict Resolution vs Reconciliation - Lesson 1 - Remember Whose You Are - Question 1, p. 13

Humans frequently ponder their existence and purpose. One crucial question is, "Am I destined to be forever apart from God?" This reflection leads us to look for answers in Holy Scripture for both truth and grace.
Isaiah 59:2 declares, "But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you so that he will not hear." This verse starkly outlines our natural state of separation from God, driven by our iniquities and sins. Our inherent human nature, marred by sin, distances us from the divine presence of the Almighty.
Furthermore, Romans 6:23a reinforces this reality, stating, "For the wages of sin is death." This underscores the gravity of our sinful state, where death is the inevitable consequence of our actions. It is a sobering realization that by our nature, we are indeed condemned, destined for eternal separation from God.
However, this is not the end of the story. Amidst this seemingly hopeless predicament, there emerges a beacon of hope—God's unfathomable grace. The latter part of Romans 6:23 offers a profound shift in perspective: "but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Despite our sinful nature, God's grace extends an invitation to redemption and eternal life through Jesus Christ.
It is through this divine grace that we find the promise of reconciliation and restoration. God's love for us transcends our transgressions, offering us a path back to Him. As we reflect on our nature, let us also embrace and celebrate the boundless grace that God lavishes upon us, bridging the chasm of separation and leading us into eternal communion with Him.
While our nature may render us separated from God, His grace assures us of a restored relationship, underscoring the transformative power of His divine love and mercy.
